  • From April 1 through May 31, 2026, 1,755 commuters took the Ride&Shine pledge, committing to try a sustainable commute to work or school.

    The pledge results highlight the multimodal nature of commuting in our region. Among participants, 61% pledged to use public transit, followed by walking (39%), bicycling (37%), remote work (34%), shuttles (30%), and carpooling/vanpooling (27%).

    Together, commuters logged thousands of sustainable trips by biking, walking, taking transit, carpooling, vanpooling, and working remotely. These efforts reduced vehicle travel, lowered greenhouse gas emissions, and helped create healthier and more efficient commutes across the region.

  • The Share Your Commute campaign was a special component of the Ride&Shine 2026 Commuter Challenge that encouraged participants to submit photos and quotes of their sustainable commutes. These submissions helped bring the challenge to life and we hope they inspire others to give a new commute a try. This year, 68 commuters shared photos and stories of their daily journeys, showcasing the many ways people travel throughout our region.
