Commute.org Earns National TDM Accreditation

We are excited to share that in February 2025, Commute.org was officially recognized as a certified Transportation Demand Management (TDM) organization! This accreditation was awarded by the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) to highlight our strong governance, structure, and commitment to excellence in TDM.

We are dedicated to making sustainable modes of transportation more accessible to commuters in San Mateo County through our rewards, shuttle services, and CommuteStar app, among other programs. It is truly an honor to be recognized!

We are proud to be one of the first nine organizations in the United States to earn this accreditation. As Thomas Cerny, Chair of ACT’s Accreditation Committee, shared:  Seeing these nine organizations achieve accreditation further strengthens my confidence in TDM’s future. For the first time, thanks to these pilot participants and the dedication of numerous volunteers, TDM professionals have a clear framework to identify and implement key characteristics from top-performing organizations. I encourage others to pursue accreditation in 2025 so that, together, we can learn, grow, and elevate the entire field.”

We would like to recognize the vision of our board of directors and their support of our efforts to undertake the accreditation process. Pursuing accreditation aligned extremely well with several of the objectives in our Strategic Plan. We encourage other TDM agencies across the country to take on the challenge. It is a lot of work, but we are a better agency as a result.

This recognition is just the beginning—we are committed to continuing our work to improve mobility, reduce congestion, and support a healthier, more sustainable future for our community.
