We Made the News – and So Did Carpooling

We’re excited to share that Commute.org was featured on NBC Today on April 16, 2026! The segment features the principal and vice principal of Burlingame High School, who carpool to work together and log their trips using our CommuteStar app to earn rewards.

It’s a simple habit with a real impact. Carpooling cuts emissions, saves money, and takes the stress out of the daily drive. We love seeing commuters like these two show what sustainable transportation looks like in everyday life.

Join the Ride&Shine Commuter Challenge

The feature aired right in the middle of our Ride&Shine Commuter Challenge, running throughout April and May. The challenge invites you to pledge to use a sustainable commute mode, whether it’s carpooling, biking, taking transit, teleworking, or walking, for a chance to win weekly and grand prizes. Make a difference by pledging here: https://commute.org/pledge2026/

Don’t Have a Carpool Partner Yet? We’ve Got You

If you’ve been thinking about carpooling but don’t know where to start, our carpool matching tool on CommuteStar can help. It connects people with similar schedules and routes, so finding a reliable ride-share partner is easier than ever.

Watch the NBC Today segment here and see what the buzz is all about. Join the thousands of commuters already making the switch.
