The Ride&Shine Commuter Challenge makes it easy to try a more sustainable commute — whether that means walking, biking, carpooling, vanpooling, taking public transit, or working remotely. Throughout the challenge, 40 prizes will be awarded — and getting started is simple.
How It Works
1️⃣ Take the Pledge
Commit to trying a sustainable commute during the challenge period by completing the pledge form.
👉 Everyone who takes the pledge is automatically entered to win one of four grand prizes.
2️⃣ Log Your Trips (Optional, but encouraged!)
Create a free CommuteStar account and log your sustainable commute trips for entry into weekly prize drawings.
👉 Four winners are selected each week — giving you a new chance to win throughout the challenge.
3️⃣ Share Your Commute (Optional Bonus)
Submit a photo and short description of your commute (pledge required).
👉 Four participants will be selected to win a $50 bonus prize.
Take the Pledge:
Complete the pledge form and commit to a sustainable commute (carpool, vanpool, transit, shuttle, ferry, bike, walk, or remote work). Pledge forms must be submitted by May 31, 2026.

Weekly Prize Drawings:
Participants who create a CommuteStar account and log their trips during the challenge period (April–May 2026) are eligible for weekly prize drawings. (4 weekly winners)

CommuteStar is accessible from either a website or from a mobile app, making it easy to participate and track your sustainable commutes.

Participants who have taken the pledge and submit a photo will be entered into a bonus drawing. Four winners will each receive a $50 e-gift card.
By submitting a photo and description, you consent to Commute.org using your image and written content for promotional and marketing purposes, including on our website, social media, newsletters, and other outreach materials. Participants may be credited by first name only unless otherwise requested.
