On March 19th, Commute.org partnered with Climate Resilient Communities (CRC), one of our Community Partner Grantees, to host a successful Community Workshop at the PAL Center in Redwood City. The event brought together community members to learn about sustainable commuting options, cost-saving programs, and ways to take advantage of Commute.org’s rewards and incentives.

Join us for a Commute.org Community Workshop on March 19th from 6:00-7:30 PM at the PAL Center, Redwood City. Explore event goals in English and Spanish, featuring logos and illustrations of buses and trains. RSVP with the QR code to build Climate Resilient Communities together!.The evening was filled with discussions, hands-on demonstrations, and a warm sense of community. Attendees enjoyed dinner while participating in an engaging presentation led by Commute.org staff. The presentation was delivered in Spanish, ensuring accessibility for all community members.

Commute.org staff walked attendees through various transportation programs and benefits, including assistance programs, free shuttle service, monthly promotions, and rewards programs for sustainable commuting. A key highlight of the workshop was the mobile walkthrough of the CommuteStar app, where community members learned how create a CommuteStar account to log their trips and get rewarded.

The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. The workshop fostered dynamic discussions, with numerous questions about how to log trips, what counted towards incentives, details about raffles, the Caltrain Pass Forward program, the Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program, and recording carpool and vanpool trips on the CommuteStar app. One of the most exciting outcomes of the event was the active participation with CommuteStar—multiple attendees signed up during the workshop and began logging their trips!

Looking ahead, Commute.org is committed to continuing its work with community-based organizations like CRC to make sustainable commuting more accessible and rewarding for everyone. We’re excited about the momentum generated by this workshop and look forward to hosting more events that empower individuals to make smart, sustainable transportation choices.

If you missed this workshop, don’t worry—there will be more opportunities to learn, engage, and take advantage of Commute.org’s programs. Be sure to stay connected with us through our social media platforms and monthly e-newsletters!
